Parking Information

• Resident Parking Only: Parking at Joshua's Pond is limited and primarily reserved for Barnstable residents with a valid beach pass. The parking area has a limited number of spaces (around 37).
• Permit Required: A Barnstable resident beach pass is required to park at the pond.
• Non-Resident Alternatives: Non-residents can access the pond by being dropped off or by biking, but there is no public parking available for non-residents during the summer season.

Facilities and Amenities

• Lifeguards: Lifeguards are on duty during the summer months.
• Restrooms: Restroom facilities are available in a bathhouse.
• Playground: There is a small playground for children.
• Accessibility: Access to the beach from the parking area is via a set of steep stairs, which may be challenging for those with mobility issues. The town of Barnstable is aware of these accessibility challenges and recommends checking other ponds that have more accessible routes.
• Recreation: The pond is great for swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding. There are also hiking trails around the pond.
• Dogs: Dogs are not allowed on the beach from May 15 to September 15.

The pond is a great place for a picnic or to simply relax and enjoy the scenic surroundings.
