Cooks Brook Beach is a scenic, quiet town beach located on the Cape Cod Bay side of Eastham at the end of Steele Road.

About the Beach

• The Vibe: It is highly regarded as a peaceful, family-friendly spot, backed by beautiful, rolling sand dunes. Because it sits on the bay, the water is calm, warm, and excellent for wading—especially for families with small children.

• Low Tide: At low tide, the water recedes dramatically to expose expansive mudflats, sandbars, and shallow tide pools. It is a fantastic spot for walking out into the bay, beachcombing, or watching the sunset.

• Amenities: It features seasonal lifeguards and basic restroom facilities (typically portable toilets) during the peak summer months.

Parking Information

Cooks Brook Beach has a decent-sized paved parking lot right at the beach entrance, though it can still fill up on hot mid-summer days.

Because it is a town-managed bay beach, Cape Cod National Seashore passes are not accepted here. To park, you must have one of the following during the summer season:

1. Daily Parking Pass: Cooks Brook is one of only four beaches in Eastham where you can pay at the gate for a daily vehicle pass. For the 2026 season, the town daily pass fee is $30 per vehicle. Note: Daily passes are sold directly at the beach gate, not at the town sticker office.

2. Town Beach Sticker: If you plan on staying longer, you can use a valid Town of Eastham Beach Sticker (Taxpayer/Resident or Visitor stickers). For visitors, town beach stickers can be purchased online, by mail, or in person starting in early June at the Sticker Office (555 Old Orchard Road).

During the off-season (typically from after Labor Day until mid-June), parking at the lot is free and open to the public without a pass or sticker.
